Did you know that putting infants to sleep on their back has been considered best practice and has been recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) since the mid 1990's?
Believe it or not though, some people are still not aware of these recommendation changes. That's why it is so important to make sure that anyone who will be caring for your infant is aware of the ABC's of safe sleep.
You should clearly explain to all caregivers that you would like your infant placed alone, on their back, in a crib, every time they sleep.
This communication between parents and caregivers can not only help spread the word about the most current safe sleep practices, but can also be vital in reducing the number of sleep-related infant deaths in our community.
