Bob Onder, a U.S. Congressman, recently addressed a range of issues on his official Twitter account, including campus free speech concerns, flood protection for agricultural communities, and federal building utilization.

On September 9, 2025, Onder highlighted an incident at Cornell University involving alleged harassment of Jewish students. He stated: "At Cornell University, David Rubinstein, a PhD. candidate, and his fellow Jewish friends were continually harassed by his student union for refusing to fund their affiliate union's pro-Hamas agenda. Clearly, we need greater first amendment protections for both Jewish".

The following day, September 10, 2025, Onder focused on infrastructure challenges faced by rural communities in his district. He wrote: "Flood waters don't wait for Washington's bureaucracy. Farmers and river communities in my district rely on timely dredging, reliable levees, and real flood protection to keep their families and land safe. I asked the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works how we can".

Later that same day, Onder announced legislative progress regarding government property management: "I’m honored that my bill, H.R. 3424 - the SPACE Act, passed out of the House When I came to D.C., I was shocked to see how many federal buildings sit half-empty, or completely vacant. The SPACE Act will require @USGSA to work with our Federal Agencies to address concerns".

Incidents involving harassment of Jewish students have prompted broader discussions about First Amendment rights on college campuses across the United States in recent years. Additionally, rural districts often face unique challenges related to flood management due to aging infrastructure and delayed federal response times. Efforts like the SPACE Act aim to improve efficiency within federal agencies by addressing underutilized government properties.
