In a policy-focused post from the same date, Onder stated, "Honored to lead my @RepublicanStudy colleagues in a letter officially sent this morning to @SecScottBessent, urging decisive action to remove sex-trait altering surgeries and drug therapies from the IRS list of qualified medical expenses. Later that day, Onder posted a birthday message for Charlie Kirk, writing, "Happy Birthday, Charlie. Charlie Kirk built a movement rooted in faith, freedom, and truth. Bob Onder has previously served in the Missouri Senate and has been active in Republican policy circles. The letter referenced in his tweet was addressed to Secretary Scott Bessent and advocated for the removal of certain medical procedures related to sex-trait alteration from tax-qualified medical expenses. The IRS currently maintains guidelines regarding which medical expenses are eligible for tax deductions.
Charlie Kirk is a well-known conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, an organization focused on promoting conservative values among young Americans.
