Bob Onder, a public official and commentator, recently shared several updates on his social media account regarding public opinion, immigration enforcement statistics, and educational support for military personnel.
On October 15, 2025, Onder posted: "The people have spoken! https://t.co/WEbMBpXM66".
The following day, October 16, 2025, he addressed immigration enforcement numbers: "Did you know @ICEgov closed out FY2025 with the lowest apprehension numbers since 1970?
And to be clear - in this context, lower is good.
According to @DHSgov, there were just 237,565 apprehensions at the southwest border - that’s an 87% drop from the average of the last four".
Later on October 16, Onder highlighted efforts by Columbia College: "I want to take a moment to recognize @ColumbiaColg for stepping up when it matters most.
They’ve launched an extraordinary program to ensure active-duty service members, reservists, and National Guard personnel can continue their education without interruption, while federal".
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported historically low apprehension figures at the southwest border for fiscal year 2025. This represents a significant decrease compared to previous years. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) oversees ICE operations and tracks these statistics as part of its broader mandate regarding national security and immigration enforcement.
Columbia College has initiated a program aimed at supporting military-affiliated students during periods when federal funding may be uncertain or delayed. The initiative seeks to prevent interruptions in education for service members and reservists who are enrolled at the institution.
