Following a pair of Homecoming celebrations limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Columbia College community was eager to return to “normal” festivities on its main campus last week. CC’s 2022 Homecoming featured several activities, offering fun and memorable moments for students, faculty, staff, alumni and extended members of the college family.
“Homecoming 2022 truly highlighted the CC pride that our students, staff, alumni and community feel,” said Coordinator of Center for Student Leadership Marina Turner. “From students painting Cougar paw prints around campus to participating in the fifth annual Color Run to enjoying a fun-filled festival, the spirit of our campus was alive and thriving. Cheers to yet another amazing Silver & Blue, Through & Through Homecoming 2022!”
This year’s bash opened with a new tradition, as students gathered across main campus for “Paint the Paws.” In front of CC landmarks and each residential hall, classmates painted navy blue paw prints in honor of the college’s mascot, Scooter the Cougar. Monday’s activities also included the beginning of the Office Decorating Contest, as departments across the college displayed their Cougar pride. At the end of the week, the career services & international services center was awarded first place for their outstanding design.
