Today, Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer expressed his support for three important bills aimed at bolstering Taiwan's position in the international community. These bills address Taiwan's admission to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), transparency regarding China's exchange rate manipulation, and protecting Taiwan against aggression from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

During his speech on the House floor, Rep. Luetkemeyer commended the sponsors of these bills for their dedicated efforts in crafting meaningful policy. He specifically highlighted the China Exchange Rate Transparency Act of 2023, introduced by Congressman Meuser, which aims to bring transparency to China's use of tools that impact exchange rates and threaten the core mission of the IMF.

Rep. Luetkemeyer emphasized the importance of ensuring that China plays by the same rules as everyone else in the international community. He stated, "Ensuring that China plays by the same rules of the road as everyone else has been and will continue to be a focus of my National Security Subcommittee."

The congressman also acknowledged the significance of the PROTECT Taiwan Act, introduced by Congressman Lucas, which sends a strong message that any aggression from the Xi Jinping regime towards Taiwan will result in China's exclusion from the international community.

Expressing his gratitude to Congressman Lucas for his bipartisan solution to China's aggression, Rep. Luetkemeyer said, "Thank you, Congressman Lucas, for this strong bipartisan solution to China's aggression."

Lastly, Rep. Luetkemeyer highlighted the Taiwan Non-Discrimination Act of 2023, introduced by Vice Chair Congresswoman Kim. This bill aims to ensure that Taiwan's voice is properly heard at the IMF. Rep. Luetkemeyer emphasized that the decision to apply for membership in the IMF belongs to Taiwan, but the United States should unequivocally support their application.

In conclusion, Rep. Luetkemeyer thanked Vice Chair Kim for her unwavering support in defending Taiwan and prioritizing Taiwan policy at the IMF.

These bills demonstrate the United States' commitment to supporting Taiwan and holding China accountable for its actions. By advocating for transparency, protection against aggression, and non-discrimination, these bills aim to strengthen Taiwan's position in the international financial community.
