During a Financial Services Committee hearing titled "The Semi-Annual Report of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection," Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) questioned CFPB Director Rohit Chopra.

"If you're really serious about data protection, I hope that you work with us in regard to reining in beneficial ownership and the rule making that goes with it," said Congressman Luetkemeyer.

"Junk fees, which really is not a legally enforceable term and something you guys have made up - by your definition, are late fees. I have here a letter from Nicholas Anthony at the Cato Institute; 101 late fees charged by the government. Have you looked into any government late fees at all?"
